i HATE driving!!!

FINALLY....after 20 long days of being apart we got to see each other!!! That was the longest we have ever gone! I think the most was like 5 days EvEr! Time actually flew by for me between working, working out, meeting up with friends and sleeping -- 20 days just flew by! Eric may have different to say -- for everyday I talked to him I ask what he is gonna do and he says "probably workout and then read"!  I believe he is almost done with ALL the Harry Potter books!! We talk & text multiple times a day and skype every night before bed - I get to say good night to the doggies too (GOSH do I miss all my doggies!)

So....let me start out with my roadtrip!!!!!! I left Aurora Thursday morning & 20 minutes into the trip this is what I get..........

YEP......OVERSIZED LOAD!!!!!! SO, I followed this pretty much the whole way down 47 until I got on 55 and was ready for speed and tanning!! Yes...I drove with the mini top down and my bathing suit!!

My mom was kind enough to program her navigation and let me borrow it  (after I got us lost in Aurora 2 weeks ago, my mom thought a navigation for the trip was best!)  THANKS MOMMA!!

I drove on and on and on......stopped for gas & food and updated Eric on where I was and when I told him what exits it had me take he realized that it took me the back way around St Louis!  Which is technically shorter distance but multiple turns thru little towns and I am not used to that route.  I SORT OF know the highways.  BUT....I had my navigation so I was all good ................ UNTIL...............

YES....that would be a "ROAD CLOSED -- BRIDGE OUT AHEAD" sign!!  I was out in the middle of NOWHERE with no road signs to tell me where the hell I was! I called Eric SCREAMING and FREAKING out!! I had no clue where to go.  There was nothing around me anywhere !!  I turned around and drove back to a one-gas-pump station that I found.  I walked in to a one-toothed man buying a flask of whiskey who said "where you headed little girl?" I smiled & politely ignored him and asked the nice lady behind the counter whom was sober and NOT creepy, "excuse me, but how do I get to Lake of the Ozarks?!" She laughed and began writing me these directions .........

So....yeah THAT was fun!!! I was back on the road again thru weird little corn field towns like this ...

Needless to say... I found no tequilia and no sombrero!  I carried on my way for a bit longer and FINALLY......

Hallelujah!!!! I made it to MizzzzUrah!  As I carried on my speedy driving, my car decided to display a lovely "flat tire" warning light!!!  I was loving my FIRST road trip all alone!

Anyways... I stopped and checked em out and they looked good to me so I kept driving.  I drove & drove & drove thru storms, little towns, followin my navigation with anxiety about a possible flat tire!!
After almost 8 LONG hours in the car I finally made it to the "Sunrise Beach" toll bridge (this is where I get excited cause it's only 20 minutes to dads then)!!!  WELLLL......it costs $4 to get past the bridge and guess who had NO cash & NO pin code to her ATM card???? THIS GIRL!!!!
I explained my situation and the lady would not allow credit cards, did not have a way to pay online and directed me to reverse -- she was NOT letting me thru!!!!!  After reversing a very LONG ways thru the concrete barriers with cars not understanding what my waving hand like a mad woman and screaming "GO AROUND ME" meant; I then pulled in to the employee parking lot for the damn toll bridge! I called Eric & my dad whom both did NOT answer! SO I sat there, crying and yelling while people drove by and starred at me!!! They should have paid me $4 to watch my crazy mad woman-ness!!!!
Finally...Eric called me back after like 20 minutes to say he had my pin code and I drove back to an ATM machine got cash, pulled up to the damn lady and without making eye contact, I handed her cash to break -- she took FoReVeR (on purpose) and then insisted on waiting about 15 second before she raised the gate!! I officially HATED the Ozarks at that point & time!!!!  But, I sucked it up, put the mini top down, cranked my music and flew down the fun winding streets where I finally got to see my wonderful husband!!!!!!!!

It was not the "Notebook" style running half a mile to one another and kissing passionately in the pouring down rain that I had so imagined -- but that's ok ;)

We had a great weekend cuddling with the 3 doggies down there and one another!! I actually kinda like being apart cause Eric will actually cuddle me the way I like!! (I think he missed me a lot)!

I hung out with my grandma who is doing AMAZING after her hip surgery & stroke 2 months ago!!  My Aunt, Uncle & a few cousins met us down there for the weekend where we boated, jet skiied, cooked, played games and just had a great time together! The Ozarks is always such a fun time -- anyone is more than welcome to come down anytime!! I would LOVE a driving partner that's for sure!!

I left Sunday afternoon and made it home the normal HIGHWAY route in a wonderful 6 hours and 40 minutes!! YEP, I have a led foot!!  And I wasn't crying when I left Eric Sunday cause I will be seeing him Thursday!!!!

4 DAYS is much better than 20!!!!  See you very soon baby <3

Aunt Pam, Julie, Me & Bailey!

We played Eric, my dad & Maria's favorite card game... GOLF!!

That's me in FIRST place after 9 holes (totalling like 3 hours)  I WON!!! I made us get in Olympic sequence!

That's my very scared face!! This was the most dangerous thing I've done since mopedding!

He was such a gentleman and drove me around nice & slow not over any large waves!

Time for a group shot!! We always have the best time! Till next time .........
(Cousin tried getting drunk Eric to sign a contract stating that we will come back next year for the annual Ozark vacation...we will see!)

I'm a survivor!!

Well, today marks officially 1 week since I've seen Eric.  I ain't gonna lie - I cried myself to sleep a few nights missing him & all my doggies. I've gotten really lost, grocery shopped at a new store all by myself, cooked dinner, made my own lunches, been a sober driver & started working out with my new personal trainer -- ALL in a weeks time!!  I even got lost in the city and had to drive around Michigan Ave & East Lake Shore Dr three times until I asked a horse drawn carriage man how the hell I could get onto the "real Lake Shore" -- I NOW KNOW that East Chicago will get you onto Lake Shore Drive!!  So...needless to say I am beginning to become my own Rand McNally!! Oh...and today I pulled into the wrong driveway when I got back to mom's -- I realized that when there wasn't a garage key pad for me to use !! HA HA!! I have cried and laughed at myself numerous times this week!

Last week I spent at the Coleman's (this is Libby's new family) in Naperville.  They have not only been kind enough to take Libby in as their own, but let me stay at their house & make myself at home.  I <3 their house!! They were out of town all week so I got to cuddle and love my Libbers & Jameson...Jameson is Libby's new AHHHHDORABLE little brother that is already loving on her and sharing everything.  I walked them everyday and enjoyed every second of it -- INCLUDING picking up dog poop with a plastic bag --FIRST TIME for everything right??!! I watched Libby be obsessed with rawhide chewies and pretend to dig holes and hide them from her new little brother! She used to do that when she was little and it was so great to see her doing it again.  She doesn't howl NEARLY as much as she used to -- it's quite amazing actually! Libby also enjoyed her first trip to downtown Naperville on Sunday with me where we enjoyed walking, getting attention from everyone that walked by & she howled with the Carrilon bell when it went off...it was the most hysterical howl I have ever heard out of her and people were walking by & laughing cause she was howling with the music!! We also met up with Auntie Char, Uncle Jason & Auntie Kimmie and Libby had a picnic with me by baby Ty's tree!!
I am so happy and couldn't be more grateful for Libby's new family; she loves Jameson cleaning her eyes like her brothers used to -- she is still waiting for him to clean her ears though! GOD is she a spoiled lil dog -- she has no idea, but as Eric & I say, reassuring ourselves that we're making the right decision, "Libby is definetly moving on up!" We can't thank Mark, Karen & Jameson enough for their love and kindness.  Thanks Kim Kat for putting up with me this week and weekend! And a thanks to Jen & Miss B for bringing me breakfast! I have amazing friends that are gonna help us get through this lonely summer.
Tonight I made dinner for my mom & Mike and they actually enjoyed it! This week will be filled with work, working out, NO TANNING (cause I fried myself outside today with no SPF!) & visiting with Libby & the Coleman's & whatever else pops up my way inbetween.

TEN 10 TEN days till I see ERIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya babe

One Week In Missouri

Well I've been down in Missouri living with Kandices dad for a week and oh how different life is down here!  It's nothing bad, just a very secluded place that doesn't offer a whole lot to do on a day to day basis.  I can't say that i dislike that fact it's just a little different to get used to but i'm sure i'll adjust fine as time goes on.  There are many things to be done around the house but I asked that i be given a week to not worry about any projects because that's all i was doing at waterway before we moved.  This week I have mostly relaxed and started unpacking my stuff to get my room set up.  I went and saw Pirates 4 which was okay, started reading the Harry Potter books which surprisingly showed up on the door step friday morning (thanks mom) and started working with the Beagles to get them better trained.  The weather down here has been very hot this week, temps in the 90's with soaring humidity so it hasn't been the most pleasant outside.  Just wanted to give you a little update on things going on with me! -Eric
